Every game is rated against who and what it was played against, not on the raw number. Each result counts as a head-to-head with everyone else in that game, and beating a strong field is worth more than beating a weak one: house bots take part at a strength set by their level (noob to cracked), and a game played alone is measured against the usual result for the same settings. That gives each mode a skill (everyone starts at 1000), and the 0–100 rating ranks you on it. Your overall is the average of the modes you've played, plus a small bonus for breadth.

Ratings with fewer than 3 results are provisional and held near 50 until you've played enough for the number to mean something.
